A collection of short stories from award-winning author Chad Pelley includes a number of recognized works including “A Second Look at Nothing,” the winner of the Telegraph-Journal’s Salon Fiction Prize and the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts & Letters Award for Short Fiction.
Chad Pelley is a Newfoundland-based author who has published two novels as well as a recent short story collection, Four-Letter Words. He has received a number of accolades for his work including a CBC Emerging Artist award in 2009 for his debut novel, Away from Everywhere. In 2013, he published his follow-up, Every Little Thing, and attended Fog Lit’s inaugural festival. In May, he released his first collection of short stories. Many of the stories received recognition from various publications and have won awards, including “Red” which was published in The Antigonish Review and won the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts & Letters Award for Short Fiction. He won the same prize for the story “A Second Look at Nothing.”
In addition to writing, Pelley is also a musician. His most recent collection of songs, “They’ll Hang a Halo Over You,” is available to listen on his Bandcamp. He also founded The Overcast, a website dedicated to celebrating Newfoundland artists and creators.
