Laura Taylor had a varied cultural childhood here in the Saint John area surrounded by artists, musicians and writers. She moved into an academic study of culture with a Bachelor of Fine Art then into Artifact Conservation at a variety of museums. Later life took her on a left-turn into Web Design and Development, which came to focus mainly on artists and arts organizations as clients. Laura has a history of volunteer work that expanded on her return to Saint John from her almost twenty years in Ottawa.
She has softened her training in academic writing with courses in creative writing and over a decade of participation in National Novel Writing Month. This has left her with over a dozen novels in various states, and someday she hopes to finish at least one of them.
Laura is currently responsible for the advertising of Fog Lit Book Festival events and the recruitment of sponsors.
